Friday Fun

I can remeber in the old days where I would drink beer until I couldn't stand on Fridays. Now I make dumplings.

Ben and Angela (foreign teachers from Canada) invited me over to make dumplings last Friday night. Being a man who has nothing better to do, I graciuosly accepted the offer. This is actually the second Friday evening that I have spent doing this. The dumplings are fantastic. The Chinese girls are much better at making the dumplings than the western people. I believe that on this evening I ate around 20 dumplings. My stomach was still aching around 6 a.m. in the morning. Then again that could have something to do with the copious amount of alcohol consumed with my friends.

After the children were put to bed, Ben, Rory, and I drank until the wee hours. It is so easy to do when a 22 ounce bottle of beer costs around .25 cents. Those videos are unable to be published due to some content issues.

Next Thursday evening, about 8 of us foreign teachers are going to fly to Chengdu for a weekend vacation. Chengdu is the home of Hot Pot. Which is my favorite food in China. Hot Pot is kind of like fondu. There is a large pot placed in the middle of the table. The pot is filled with a gnarly concoction of broth, water, spices, and peppers. After it begins boiling you place food in the pot to cook. When it is ready you fetch it out of the pot and eat it in a sauce.
