Xi'an is making it to a small screen near you.

You may or may not be aware, but this week is China week on the Travel Channel. Most episodes are repeats, but Samantha Brown is airing all new episodes of her travels in China. Most importantly (to me), there will be a one hour episode about the city I am moving to (Xi'an). This aires Wed. night 7/30.

See the clipping below from the travel channel.

Wednesday, July 30, at 8 p.m. ET Xian
Samantha navigates Asia's biggest train station to get from Beijing to the ancient capital of Xian, where she's about to discover the biggest archeological find of the century: China's Terra Cotta Soldiers. After biking to the top of the oldest intact city wall in the world, Samantha caps off her trip with a Tang Dynasty-style dance show.

Destination Thailand

Well it is official. I have been confirmed by the Xi'an Polytechnic University that my visa is good to go. If you haven't heard I have booked my flight to Bangkok for Tuesday August 5th. I should land after 24 some odd hours of traveling on Wens. evening. My tentative plans are to head south to the beaches, then back up to Bangkok, up to Chaing Mai and take a barge up the Mekong river between Myanmar and Laos into southern China. I intend to take a 3 day train trip from Kunming to Xi'an. I am sure that my plans will change 10 more times between now and Xi'an, but right now that is what I am thinking for my trip. I received my shots 2 days ago Hep A & B, Thyphoid, Tetnus, Japanese Enchephanitis. Now I know how a pin cushion feels.
